Good morning!
Spirit Week has started & both of us are donning silly glasses to get in the holiday spirit. Our goofy glasses are from Target & if you are a Target Red Card holder, you can help out DGS just by shopping! Target offers a wonderful program called “Take Charge of Education” in which Target will donate 1% of the money you spend shopping there to the school of your choice. This is a great way for you to help DGS without really having to do anything beyond what you already do.
If you spend $100/month at Target ($1200/year) that means $12 will be given to DGS. This may not seem like all that much at first, but if 30 people designate DGS as their school, that is a $360 donation. If we get 50 people, then it’s $600. In 2014, Mrs. Weiss accumulated over $50 with her Red Card through the Take Charge of Education program (“Don’t do the math! Don’t judge me! I really like Target, and I had to furnish my new house…”). So far, there are 28 Red Card holders whose contributions go to DGS, and as of August 2014 our school has received $7035.91 through this program. This enables us to do so many great things with your kiddos, from everyday supplies to special activities. If you have a Red Card and haven’t designated a school for the TCOE program yet, you can follow the link at the bottom for more information and instructions.

Thank you!

On Tuesday before Thanksgiving break we had our very own Charlie Brown Thanksgiving!
We were initially very confused when the 1st grade students walked into our rooms wearing Pilgrim-style hats, but they all wrote us invitations to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast with them!
Then, all of Kindergarten got together to watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. Before watching the movie, the kiddos thought they were going to have a regular Thanksgiving meal, but then Charlie Brown and his friends ate toast, jelly beans, pretzels, and popcorn! It wasn’t going to be a regular Thanksgiving feast at all.
Once we got to the feast, we took turns sharing things we are thankful for.
Then we feasted! And we had the most wonderful time!
Thanks to all of our volunteers for their help with preparing our feast!
